“The location itself is part of the Show”
This story started loooong time ago…
It was 2003, we heard voices in town about an infested manor hidden in the forest nearby…
So, you won’t go? Yep, we went there…
As the first step we made inside the courtyard we looked into our eyes, and we all said…Let’s make a Party!
As a first one, it wasn’t that bad!
While enjoying the party something was growing inside us…more than the party we were proud of how the site was brought back to life!
That was the beginning,
Our needs to explore the ruins nearby brought us exploring the most exiting places you can imagine… Abandoned Motels and Asylums, Old Bunkers from the WWII, Underground Military bases, Infested Villas, Caves and so on…
Every time there was a story to tell, something strange found while cleaning up, some old documents and papers, strange devices…
we wanted to let people see things differently, like we do. . .
We started doing some Art ourselves and then inviting some nearby artists,(as you know we are Limitrofi…)
The thing became more like a Funny Art Show, and we Loved That!
Doing Culture while Having Fun!
Starting from 2009 we decided to make our first big step,
we became Collettivo Limitrofi and started hosting Art Shows in Abandoned Buildings in the Town Center during the Local Summer Fair…
This Was a Blast!
Every year a new building till…
Summer 2014 . . .
Finally we’ve got the key of One of the Many Garages inside the place we dreamed about every time…
it wasn’t much…but a key is enough!
Years Later we looked at ourselves like we did Ten Years Before…
This is gonna be Our Home!
From that year we started cleaning up,
discovering new hidden places,
destroying walls, roofs,making new ones,
doing lighting and building furniture. . .
and why not…
Have Some Party!
Every year was like a new building,
something new or something missing,
a new room,
a new door,
a tree inside a room,
a transparent roof,
a new garden,
an urban forest…
It was 2019
As many dreams, also this one had come to an End.
In order to Open the Location to the Public we were asked to have some papers we clearly didn’t ever had.
With Love, We went on the Streets
and We didn’t Give Up!
